Stone Mountain Creek Farm
Stone Mountain Creek Farm, formerly named Billings High Acres, has been in Amy's family since 1969 when her grandparents built the current farm house there. Stone Mountain Creek Farm sits in the foothills of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains, and offers a quiet, peaceful atmosphere for horses as well as humans. Amy grew up dreaming of someday being able to own her own horse farm, and in 2004, moved to her grandparents' old farm and thus, Stone Mountain Creek Farm began its transformation into a horse farm. Amy's late father, Danny Billings, was largely responsible for this transformation; he designed and built the first fence and, along with Amy's help, also built the lower pasture fence a few years later, as well as the riding arena fence.
Stone Mountain Creek Farm has been gradually growing and improving over the past several years. However, when Amy and Matt met and began their journey together in 2011, they began to have dreams of turning Stone Mountain Creek Farm into a small, private breeding farm for Friesians and Friesian crosses, and have been working towards this mutual dream ever since. Matt and Amy have poured their heart and soul into building and caring for their farm and animals, and plan to continue to do so for years to come!
Stone Mountain Creek Farm is a 16 acre farm, currently with four fenced pastures and a paddock. The farm is lined with woods and has a creek running down from Stone Mountain. There is a full sized sand based riding arena on site, as well as trail access. There are also plans for the North Carolina Mountains to Sea Trail to run either alongside, or close by the farm; the MST trail runs from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks of NC, and the section which will be close to Stone Mountain Creek Farm will be a hiking/equestrian trail. SMCF does not have a large barn or facilities to accommodate a large number of boarders, but is able to house one or two boarders, so contact us if you are interested!
Stone Mountain Creek Farm's foundation Friesian stallion, Otto P. Ster Sport, is now available for stallion services, and SMCF offers quality purebred Friesians, Friesian crosses and other Sporthorses for sale. Contact us for more information!
