Mares
Ophelia P.
Ophelia P. is our 2012 KFPS registered Friesian mare. She was bred by Vanderploeg Friesians, and is sired by Wybren 464 and is out of the beautiful Crown mare Susan P. (Wander 352 x Reitse 272 Preferent). Ophelia's dam, Susan P., is the full sister to the KFPS approved stallion Doaitsen 420 Sport. Ophelia has only had one show season so far, but performed very well in driving, in hand and under saddle classes, even garnering a World Championship title in her 2nd show!
We fell in love with Ophelia P. from the moment we first saw pictures of her. We had met her dam, Susan P., when we had flown to MI to visit Otto P., and at the time, she was still in foal with our future Ophelia. We feel very honored to own Ophelia P.; she is an extremely smart and talented girl, and keeps us constantly entertained! Ophelia P. has just had her first foal this year (2023) by the handsome PRE stallion, Carbonero XCVI: Bellatrix! She is confirmed in foal for a 2024 foal by the same stallion, and we are excited to see what they produce next year!

Pollyanne
Pollyanne from WildWind (Sibald 380 x Barteld 292) came to live with us in November of 2015. Polly is a KFPS registered purebred Friesian mare, and was awarded 2nd Premie status at her foal keuring. She is a beautiful baroque style Friesian mare with plenty of substance and bone, but also has lovely, open floaty movement. Polly has a beautiful "crushed velvet" Friesian coat and tons of gorgeous hair. Polly is a sweetheart with a wonderful temperament and great work ethic. Polly and Otto P. cross very well, each lending excellent qualities to foals.
Polly has produced 4 foals by our KFPS Ster Stallion Otto P., and a colt by Brend 413! Her 2023 filly, Werdandi, by Otto P., is offered for sale!! We are very excited about the future of this filly who will be registrable with the KFPS B Book registry. Werdandi has a wonderful temperament, athleticism and versatility for multiple disciplines, and should have tons of hair! Message us for more details!

Royalander
Royalander, (Royal Prince x Adios III) ,barn name Olivia, came to live at SMCF in the winter of 2022. Olivia is a 2005 Hanoverian mare who needed some rehabilitation and TLC when she came to us, and we feel very lucky to have her here. We are happy that she is doing so well at our farm. Olivia has produced some lovely, and very successful, foals over the past years, the most recent of which was a large, handsome colt by our Friesian stallion, Otto P.
Olivia is confirmed in foal to the German Riding Pony stallion Stibby-Me, currently owned by Branley Ash Sportponies in Canada, for a 2024 foal. We are very much looking forward to the arrival of what we think will be a very special foal from this match.

Winter
Winter, ISR registered name Ghost, joined the Stone Mountain Creek Farm family in early May of 2015. Winter is a 2004 Cremello colored American Quarter Horse. She is approved for breeding and registered with the Oldenburg Registry/International Sporthorse Registry. Prior to coming to SMCF, Winter produced two gorgeous foals by warmblood stallions, but more recently has been competing in Show Jumping in the C Circuit. Winter is an incredibly athletic mare with a wonderful disposition. She is a beautiful jumper, but is lovely on the flat as well. With her coloring, she draws attention wherever she goes!
Since coming to SMCF, Winter has produced two lovely buckskin Friesian Sporthorse fillies, both by our stallion, Otto P. You can see pictures of Autumn and Oral below. Winter also produced a handsome ISR Sportpony colt, Moonstone, by GRP Stallion Milky Way, featured below as well.

Jasmine Jazz
Jasmine Jazz joined the Stone Mountain Creek Farm family in the summer of 2016! She is a golden champagne 2014 American Saddlebred Horse. Jasmine has Supreme Sultan lines and has tons of natural movement. What attracted us to Jasmine for our program was not only her sweet, level headed temperament, but also her correct sporthorse conformation (short back, nice shoulder and topline) and the fact that she has nice, open reaching movement. Jasmine has found her place in our herd and is an exciting addition to our farm and breeding program. Jasmine is a sweetheart, is full of energy and is very athletic.
Thank you, Gareth Selwood, for the opportunity to own this lovely girl!!
Jasmine has produced two handsome amber champagne Friesian Sporthorse colts, also eligible for Georgian Grande Registry, with our stallion Otto P. since she has been with us. These crosses have impressed us greatly, and we will look forward to producing more in the future!

Bellatrix SMCF
Bellatrix is a very special foal for us as she was 3 long years in the making! We chose PRE stallion Carbonero XCVI as a match for Ophelia in order to produce what we thought would be a really nice Warlander that would combine desirable characteristics from both parents. We are extremely happy with how Bellatrix is maturing so far and are planning to keep her for our breeding program. Bellatrix has lovely, balanced gaits and is built very nicely. We think she will make a very nice performance horse, but she also has a wonderful temperament and is very friendly and easy to work with.
We like this combination so much that we decided to breed Ophelia back to Carbonero for a 2024 full sibling to Bellatrix...and that foal will be available!

Geldings
Baron von Snowden
Baron von Snowden is, in a sense, the beginning of Stone Mountain Creek Farm. He was purchased by Amy in 2003 as a yearling and was her first horse that she had ever owned. Amy grew up taking riding lessons but didn't fulfill her dream of owning her own horse until she was in her late 20's. Snowden was bred by Flying W Farms in Piketon, Ohio and is a Friesian x American Saddlebred/Orlov Trotter cross. His sire is Baron von Kolderveen of Flying W Farms in Ohio. He is a 2002 registered Friesian Sport Horse.
Although they have dabbled in jumping, trail riding and other activities, Amy and Snowden have mostly enjoyed learning the art of dressage together through the years.
We are heartbroken to report that Snowden crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in fall 2019. He will forever hold a very special place in our hearts. He was our first, and our introduction into the world of Friesians ❤️

Maewyn
Maewyn is our "Old Man" of the farm. He has been at Stone Mountain Creek Farm since Amy moved here in 2004. Maewyn (registered name Tigard) is an off track Thoroughbred and is now retired and enjoying life as the Alpha gelding of the herd and teacher and rule enforcer to our young horses. Maewyn is now 28 years old and enjoyed a long and successful racing career in his day. Maewyn is by Runaway Groom and out of Sunny Clime and was foaled in 1995. He has an impressive lineage with "greats" such as Nasrullah and Native Dancer.
Maewyn got his name from Amy due to the fact that he was born on St. Patrick's Day. Maewyn was St. Patrick's Gaelic birth name. Amy found Maewyn in Lexington, KY, not long after his track career had ended, in extremely poor condition. It didn't take him too many months, however, to regain condition and be transformed into the gleaming, handsome horse he is now. Amy enjoyed riding Maewyn for a few years until Snowden became old enough to be started under saddle, and until Maewyn's arthritis progressed and his hocks fused and he was not able to remain sound under saddle. Maewyn will always have a home at Stone Mountain Creek Farm.

Moonstone SMCF
Moonstone, affectionately known at SMCF as Fluffy, is our 2022 ISR Sportpony out of SMCF ISR mare Winter. Winter was bred to German Riding Pony stallion Milky Way of Branley Ash Sportponies to produce this colt. Fluffy is now a yearling and is growing into a very lovely colt. He participated in the 2022 Oldenburg NA/ISR inspection and received very good comments and scores from the judges. We expect that Fluffy will excel in dressage and/or jumping, and he would make a very cute small driving horse as well! Although Fluffy's sire is 14hh, Fluffy seems to be showing signs of maturing closer to his dam's height, which is 15.1hh.
In Remembrance.... Pilot SMCF
Pilot was born in 2021, and was the colt by Otto P. and Pollyanne that Amy and Matt had been waiting on to keep. Pilot was perfect; he was gorgeously built and had beautiful gaits. He had his father's friendly, playful temperament, was so smart and growing to be a tall, sturdy colt. Tragically, Pilot was injured in a freak accident on the farm and crossed the Rainbow Bridge when he was only around 6 months old. Pilot will always be greatly missed and remembered at our farm; we were so lucky to be able to spend his short life with him...it was just not enough time.
Other Animals Around the Farm
The Barn Cats
Our barn cats are actually two feral kittens that were born under our house in 2013. We had been hearing sounds under our house for some time and finally investigated and discovered a feral momma cat and four kittens. We made it our project to capture the kittens. We were finally able to catch them all in humane traps and transfer them to our garage where we cared for them and worked towards taming them. We captured them again in traps and took them all to a feral cat spay/neuter clinic where we discovered that all four kittens were males. They were all neutered and brought back to our garage to recuperate. We eventually let them outside and two have since disappeared. We dubbed these kittens the Pirate Kittens as they had been born while we were on vacation at the Outer Banks of NC (a place rich in pirate folklore). The two who remain are Avery and Teach, and they are wonderful barn cats!
We also acquired another cat, Bubba, in the early part of 2016. Bubba belonged to a friend who was moving and unable to take him with her. Bubba is a part time barn cat as he comes in at night to enjoy the creature comforts of our house. Bubba has fit right in at Stone Mountain Creek Farm and is a source of endless entertainment!

The Farm Dogs
And, of course, last but certainly not least, are our farm dogs:
Nigel the English Mastiff joined our SMCF family in the summer of 2019. Nigel is our 2nd Mastiff, but this time, we decided an English Mastiff. Nigel has traveled with us to horse shows and loves his horse companions at SMCF!! He usually accumulates his own fan club whenever he goes to horse shows, and even has his own Facebook page!
In early 2020, Peter, our 2nd Dalmatian joined our family. Nigel had become very lonely after our previous Dalmatian passed away, and we had the opportunity to bring Peter home to help with that. Peter is a liver spotted Dalmatian, and is a great farm dog and horse companion. Peter also travels to horse shows and does an excellent job keeping his (really, really) big brother Nigel exercised and in great shape!
Honored in this section are also Bentley the Bull Mastiff and Pan the Dalmatian (aka Spotty Dog), who have both crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Pan grew up at SMCF around the horses and, as Dalmatians are known to be, was great with the them. Pan considered himself guardian of the pasture and rule enforcer for the horses (although he was not always taken as seriously as he thought he should be). Pan was the first Dalmatian at SMCF and was a constant riding companion with Amy and Matt and loved to play with the horses as well.
Bentley, on the other hand, did not grow up with horses, and was introduced later to farm life. Bentley wasn't able to be in the pastures with the horses, but loved to play with them on the other side of the fence. He was a great horse exerciser and farm protector.
